The Sunningdale Foursomes is a unique tournament that was first played in 1934. Often once seen as the curtain raiser of the golfing season in Europe, the Sunningdale Foursomes is played over both the Old & New Courses in the first or second week of March.
In 1934, a total of 46 pairs entered, however today the tournament is over-subscribed and entries are limited to 128 pairs with entrants required to support a list of recent golfing achievements in order to support their entry. Each year the tournaments receive entries from PGA & European Tour Professionals, former Ryder Cup & Walker Cup players and Major Champions.
Amateurs, Professionals, Ladies & Gentlemen are eligible to compete in this Foursomes (alternate shot) knockout competition, with any combination of pairings permitted.
Players are handicapped but all play from the same tees/par.
